Celebrating World Architecture Day this week, although every day is an architectural day for me!

The first Monday in October, we celebrate both UIA - International Union of Architects World Architecture Day and World Habitat Day. This alignment is powerful, reminding us that great architecture is fundamentally about creating strong, sustainable, and thriving places for people.
This year, the core message we're focusing on is "Design by Strength."
For a local practice like ours, this doesn't just mean strong foundations; it means designing for community resilience, economic longevity, and environmental endurance.
We see this principle in action across our region, where thoughtful design is fundamentally changing the landscape:
Bracknell's Lexicon: The regeneration here wasn't just about constructing new buildings; it was about designing a robust town centre experience that could withstand retail changes and become a genuine community hub—a design built on economic and social strength.

Maidenhead's Landing: This project embodies strength through its integration of commercial, leisure, and residential spaces, designed to future-proof the town centre. It’s an example of mixed-use architecture creating enduring social and financial strength, rather than a fleeting trend.
Great architecture serves the future. It’s about creating habitats that not only look good but function powerfully for generations, providing safety, opportunity, and stability.
As we reflect this week, we're proud to contribute to local projects that are truly designed by strength.
